Camden County PD taking part in Click It or Ticket campaign

 

(Camden City, NJ) – Camden County Police Department officers are joining with police from around the country to crack down on unbuckled drivers and passengers as part of 11751446_423985307791764_2952193655960372296_nthe national “Click It or Ticket” campaign.

Running from May 20 through June 2, the annual “Click It or Ticket” national mobilization utilizes high visibility seat-belt checkpoints and saturation patrols, in combination with local and national publicity efforts, to reiterate the life-saving value of seat belts. The lives of approximately 14,000 drivers and passengers nationally were saved by the use of seat belts in 2015.

 

In New Jersey, police, including Camden County Police Department officers, will work toward raising the state’s seatbelt usage rate, which currently stands at just over 94 percent.

 

The 2018 Click It or Ticket campaign in New Jersey resulted in 19,659 seatbelt citations with 357 police departments statewide, including the Camden County PD, participating over the two-week period. The 2018 campaign also resulted in 4,437 speeding tickets and 661 driving under the influence arrests statewide.
