WINSLOW, TOWNSHIP, NJ (April 19, 2019)--Beginning over the April 12 weekend, Winslow Township Police took numerous reports for stolen motor vehicles and vehicle burglaries at various locations throughout the Sicklerville section of the township. The stolen vehicles and vehicle burglaries occurred during the overnight hours. As a result, patrols were increased and directed to these areas. Detectives began working leads and continued the investigation into possible suspects.
On April 14, April 15 and April 17 proactive patrols located six stolen vehicles in the Manor Hall, Avandale, and Victoria Manor developments.
A 14 year old juvenile was taken into custody on April 15, as he was sleeping in one of the stolen vehicles on Vanderbilt Court. On April 17 two 16 year old suspects were taken into custody as they were sleeping inside of another stolen vehicle on Memphis Court. A subsequent search of a residence in the development led to the arrest of two additional 16 year old subjects and 19 year old Winrow Mattaeo, along with additional stolen items inside of the residence. Detectives located another stolen vehicle parked on Memphis Court.
In total, six vehicles stolen out of Winslow Twp were recovered and an additional stolen vehicle out of Gloucester Township was recovered. Proceeds from five vehicle burglaries in Winslow Twp were recovered, along with proceeds from four vehicle burglaries out of Gloucester Township.
Currently five juveniles and one adult have been charged with receiving stolen property. Additional charges and arrests are pending as this investigation continues.
