Three Shot, Two Dead in Camden City

CAMDEN CITY, NJ (April 21, 2019)--Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a shooting that occurred in the city on April 21, 2019, that left

two dead and one injured.

Camden County Police responded to ShotSpotter activation in the area of the 2900 block of Pierce Street at approximately 12:37 a.m. When officers arrived, they located two females inside of a vehicle and a male laying on the ground on Pierce Street. All three were unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds.

All three victims were transported to a nearby hospital. The 17-year-old male, and Shirleen Caban, 19, both of Camden, were pronounced deceased shortly before 1:00 a.m. The third victim, an 18-year-old female from Sewell, is currently receiving treatment.

The investigation into the shootings is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
