for Super-Powered Family Fun
CAMDEN CITY NJ – Camden Comic Con returns to Rutgers University–Camden during 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 27.
For the first time in its five-year history, this family-friendly convention will coincide with Rutgers Day, an annual springtime event for New Jersey residents to explore The State University of New Jersey. Admission to both events is free and open to the public.
The headlining guest at Camden Comic Con 2019 is Gerry Conway, writer of the famous Spider-Man story arc “The Night Gwen Stacy Died,” and co-creator of comic book characters including Ms. Marvel (now better known as Captain Marvel) and the Punisher. Conway will participate in a Q&A at 4 p.m. in room 110 of the Rutgers–Camden Fine Arts Building. See the full guest list.
The Philadelphia-based Elegance Quartet string ensemble will be back again this year to perform its popular “Screens to Strings” medley of pop-culture music at 5 p.m. in the Walter K. Gordon Theater.
Convention visitors can also enjoy activities like interactive programs and workshops, a cosplay contest, and tabletop gaming. Vendors and artists will have items available for purchase in an exhibit hall, and food trucks will be selling concessions on-site.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Rutgers Day programming will offer additional family-friendly activities where guests can join the fun with hands-on activities, live performances, games, giveaways, and more. See the full list of Rutgers Day programs.
