Gloucester City Police Respond to Unconscious Male Report Find Cumberland County Fugitive

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ --Earlier this week Gloucester City Police responded to the Highland Park section of the City to investigate a report of an unconscious male. The suspect was under the influence of CDS and had a open container of alcohol in the vehicle he was driving. 

According to the crime report, on Monday, February 25 at 5:42 pm Ptl. Bob Saunders III responded to the 200 block of Greenwood Ave. for a report of an overdose in a vehicle.  Upon arrival, the male was unconscious and breathing.  The male regained consciousness and further investigation resulted with his arrest.  Carl A. Harris (28), a resident of Newfield, was found to be a fugitive from justice wanted in Cumberland County.  He was additionally charged with being under the influence of CDS, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and driving on a suspended license.  He was lodged in Camden County Jail.

In other matters, 

2/22 (5:43 am) Pt. Don Fager III responded to a residence in the 500 block of Sherwood Ave. for a reported overdose.  Upon arrival, the (35) year old male resident was found unconscious and not breathing.  Ptl. Fager III administered two doses of Naloxone and the male regained consciousness.  He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

 

2/22 (6:55 am) Ofc. Barb Kane responded to a business in the 100 block of N. Broadway for a report of a burglary to a vehicle.  Upon arrival, the owner reported sometime overnight, two of his work vans were burglarized and power tools were stolen.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

2/22 (7:50 pm) Ptl. Sean Gartland was called to Rt. 30 at Klemm Ave. for a crash involving four vehicles.  One injury was reported.

 

2/23 (10:48 pm) A traffic stop on Broadway at Somerset St. conducted by Ptl. Sean Gartland resulted with the arrest of Terri L. Rice (36), a resident of the 400 block of Mercer St.  She was arrested on warrants from Cherry Hill, Berlin Twp., and Monroe Twp.  She was additionally charged with driving on a suspended license before being released on bail.

 

2/24 (10:31 am) Ofc. Kane was called to Holt Logistics for a crash involving one tractor trailer.  No injuries were reported.

 

2/24 (8:25 pm) A bicyclist stop for a traffic violation on Broadway at Morris St. conducted by Ptl. Sean Gartland resulted with the arrest of Jim Koppert (41), a resident of Brooklawn.  He was arrested on warrants from Barrington, Audubon and Camden City.  He was additionally charged with possession of CDS (crack cocaine) before being released on bail.

 

 

 

2/26 (6:31 pm) Ptl. Bob Saunders III was called to Market St. at the railroad crossing for a crash involving a pedestrian.  One minor injury was reported.

 

2/26 (8:16 pm) Ofc. Johanna James was called to Park Ave. at Station Ave. for a crash involving one vehicle into a parked vehicle.  No injuries were reported.

 

2/26 (11:03 pm) A traffic stop on Johnson Blvd. at Mercer St. conducted by Sgt. Jim Little resulted with the arrest of James McGinn III (50), a resident of the 100 block of N. Filmore St.  He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license before being released.

 

2/27 (6:34 pm) Ptl. Sean Gartland was called to Holt Logistics for a crash involving two tractor trailers.  One injury was reported.

 

2/28 (3:02 am) Ptl. Keith Wall was called to the 800 block of Market St. for a hit and run crash where three vehicles were struck.  Further investigation resulted with the fleeing vehicle being located at a residence in the 100 block of Harding Ave. in Mt. Ephraim.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

2/28 (1:02 pm) Ptl. Don Fager III was called to Broadway at Koehler St. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported. 

 

2/28 (1:40 pm) Michael J. Keck (36), a resident of the 300 block of Cumberland St. was arrested on Burlington St. at Bergen St. by Det. Joe Hopkins and Ptl. George Spingler on warrants from Camden City and Cinnaminson.  He was additionally charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia before being released on bail.

 

2/28 (3:09 pm) A traffic stop on Broadway at Morris St. conducted by Ptl. George Spingler resulted with the arrest of Shawn M. McKee (21), a resident of Westville.  He was arrested on a warrant form Gloucester City and later released on bail.

 

2/28 (6:18 pm) Ptl. Sean Gartland was called to Rt. 130 at Klemm Ave. for a crash involving three vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

In addition, officers made (55) traffic stops and (174) property/business checks.  Officers made (9) arrests, responded to (18) domestic disputes, (34) medical assists, impounded (4) abandoned vehicles and managed (407) calls for service between February 22nd. and February 28th.
