Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

The traditional African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child” has been widely quoted when examining the partnerships required during the maturation of our youth. Our “village” has never been more necessary than it is today. We live in a fast-paced, instant information, and pressure-packed world. Today’s children are faced with a myriad of both challenges and opportunities. Navigating parenthood can be a daunting undertaking, so partnerships and supports are welcome and necessary to prepare our students for tomorrow.   We know when students see their parents, relatives, or family friends at school, it reinforces the importance of education.  We also realize that schedules often prevent time available to attend school activities or functions.  This is the third year we are holding two activities in the morning to allow an opportunity to stop by and still head off to work/other commitments.

Although parents’ roles in their children’s learning evolve as kids grow, one thing remains constant: we are our children’s learning models. Our attitudes about education can inspire theirs and show them how to take charge of their own educational journey.  Hopefully, you or someone special to your child can join us for breakfast.  “Donuts with Dudes” will take place on Monday, February 11th and “Muffins with My Lady” is scheduled for Wednesday, February 13th.   Please fill out the attached form if you are able to attend.

Best regards,

Aaron J. Rose
