Over Seven Days 10 Traffic Accidents in Gloucester City

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (February 1, 2019)--There were 10 traffic accidents in Gloucester City between January 25 and January 31, according to the weekly Police Crime Report.

*1/25 (2:28 am) Ptl. Bob Saunders III was called to the 200 block of Orlando Ave. for a reported hit and run crash involving three parked cars.  Evidence from the fleeing vehicle was recovered at the scene and further investigation conducted by Ptl. John Bryszewski resulted with the positive identification of the fleeing vehicle and driver, several days later.  A (25) year old male resident of Bellmawr was charged with driving on a suspended license, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.

 

1/26 (3:25 am) A (17) year old female from Deptford Twp. was taken into custody on Broadway at Market St. by Ptl. Don Fager III for violating the city curfew ordinance.  She was charged and released to her parent.

 

1/26 (10:55 am) A traffic stop on Market St. at Park Ave. conducted by Ptl. John Bryszewski resulted with the arrest of Roy E. Bond (42), a resident of the unit block of S. Sussex St.  He was arrested on warrants from Washington Twp., Deptford Twp. and additionally charged with driving on a suspended license.  He was released on bail.

 

*1/26 (8:00 pm) Ptl. Don Fager III was called to the 100 block of Weston Ave. for a hit and run crash involving a parked vehicle.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

1/27 (3:24 pm) Thomas D. Tetlow (37), a resident of the 400 block of Hudson St. was arrested at his residence by Ptl. Sean Gartland on a warrant from Camden County.  He was lodged in Camden County Jail.

 

1/27 (4:08 pm) A resident of the 500 block of Bergen St. reported sometime during the previous several days, the rear window of his vehicle was damaged while parked on the street.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

1/28 (10:35 am) The owner of a vacant residence in the unit block of E. Thompson Ave. reported sometime during the previous several days, the rear door of the residence was kicked in and copper piping was removed.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

*1/28 (10:14 pm) Ptl. Will DeFoney was called to Market St. at Baynes Ave. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

*1/29 (4:51 pm) Ptl. Blaise O’Donnell and K9 Demo were called to Market St. at Walnut Ave. for  a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

*1/30 (7:58 am) Ptl. Ben McKinney was called to Powell and 5th. Streets for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

*1/30 (9:54 am) Sgt. Jason Flood was called to S. Burlington St. and Cumberland Streets for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

1/30 (11:01 am) A pedestrian stop on Broadway at Morris St. conducted by Ptl. George Spingler resulted with the arrest of Christopher Giannakopoulos (36), a resident of Bellmawr.  He was arrested on warrants from Haddon Heights.  He was additionally charged with possession of CDS (prescription medication) and possession of a hypodermic syringe, before being lodged in Camden County Jail.

 

1/30 (7:26 pm) Ptl. Mike Calzonetti and K9 Blitz responded to N. Broadway at Burlington St. for a reported overdose.  Upon arrival, the (40) year old male resident of the 100 block of N. Broadway was found unconscious and not breathing.  Ptl. Calzonetti administered one dose of Naloxone and the male regained consciousness.  He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

 

*1/31 (1:55 am) Cpl. Bill Johnson was called to Market St. at Stites Ave. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

1/31 (11:43 am) A traffic stop on Somerset and S. Burlington Streets conducted by Ptl. Sean Saunders resulted with the arrest of Patrick J. Rowan (37), a resident of the 200 block of Somerset St.  He was arrested on warrants from Gloucester City and additionally charged with driving on a suspended license.  He was released on bail.

 

*1/31 (1:49 pm) Ptl. Sean Gartland was called to the 800 block of Chambers St. for a report of a found hit and run crash.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

1/31 (3:11 pm) A pedestrian stop on Broadway at Mercer St. conducted by Inv. Tim Ryder and Det. Keith O’Donnell resulted with the arrest of Steven H. Rice (25), a resident of Atco.  He was arrested on a warrant from Camden City and additionally charged with possession of CDS (marijuana and prescription medication) before being released on bail.

 

*1/31 (4:12 pm) Ptl. Sean Gartland was called to Broadway at Essex St. for a crash involving a tractor trailer striking a traffic light standard.  No injuries were reported.

 

1/31 (4:49 pm) Ptl. Don Fager III responded to Dollar General on S. Broadway for a reported shoplifting.  Upon arrival, an employee provided a description of a male who had fled the scene after attempting to steal clothing and soap.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

*1/31 (10:41 pm) Ptl. Don Fager III was called to Jersey Ave. at King St. for a crash involving one vehicle into a light pole.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

In addition, officers made (48) traffic stops and (133) property/business checks.  Officers made (8) arrests, responded to (8) domestic disputes, (38) medical assists, impounded (1) abandoned vehicle and managed (337) calls for service between January 25th. And January 31st.
