PHILADELPHIA PA--For the 44th consecutive year, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will participate in Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) Rice Bowl, a nationwide Lenten program that gives people of all ages a way to respond to human suffering with compassion through tangible action. Auxiliary Bishop John J. McIntyre will preside at this year’s Rice Bowl blessing and kick-off event.

In addition to the blessing, Ms. Anne H. Ayella, CRS Diocesan Director, and Mr. Jeffrey Wallace, CRS Regional Manager will illustrate how Rice Bowl touches people locally and globally. Additionally, Ms Liz Bergen and Ms. Jean Flynn, will offer details on the Saint Vincent DePaul food cupboard. They will be accompanied by Mr. James Amato, Secretary for Catholic Human Service, and Ms. Lizanne Hagedorn, Executive Director of Nutritional Development Services.
