The Albert Carino Boys Basketball Club has announced that the final meeting of the season (Senior Day) will be WEDNESDAY, February 20th at 11:30, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Route 70 & Cuthbert Blvd., Cherry Hill.
Jonathan Stone has been the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at The Hun School ofPrinceton since the fall of 2000. With a state championship, three MAPL championships, four regular season MAPL titles and several Ivy League players, The Hun School, has become arguably one of the best prep schools with a combination of high academic standards and basketball excellence in the country.
Former Hun School players are currently on Division I rosters at Princeton, St. Joe’s, Vanderbilt, Elon, Rhode Island, Northeastern, Colgate, Dartmouth and others. Before arriving at The Hun School, Coach Stone spent two years at the University of Rochester as assistant coach and graduate student under Coach Mike Neer. Prior to Rochester, Coach Stone spent five years as a professional basketball player in Europe. His stops included the Chester Jets in Chester, England; Bayern Muenchen in Munich, Germany and Dungannon Basketball Club in Dungannon, N. Ireland.
Coach Stone also spent a year with the Harlem Globetrotters organization as a member of their regular opponent the Washington Generals. Coach Stone attended Colgate University, Class of 1992. During his career he was a two-year captain, three-time MVP, two-time Most Improved Player, and still holds the single game scoring record of 52 points. At The Hun School, Coach Stone teaches math, is the Athletic Liaison to the office of College Counseling, and is the Dean of the Junior Class. Coach Stone also serves on the NCAA Student Records and Review Committee. Coach Stone lives on campus with his wife Jennifer, and sons Carson and Ryan.
In keeping with The Club’s policy, attending seniors will be presented with a certificate commemorating their participation at Senior Day. COACHES ARE REQUESTED TO SUBMIT THE NAMES OF THEIR SENIORS VIA EMAIL TO firstname.lastname@example.org. Reservations for this event must be made prior to February 15th. Lunch cost is $25.00.
This would be a fitting way to acknowledge your seniors by showing your appreciation for their commitment to your basketball program.
