PHILADELPHIA, PA (February 2019) - Philadelphia’s largest dining fundraiser,Dining Out For Life, is returning to the Greater Philadelphia area on Thursday, April 18, 2019. This longstanding tradition was founded in Philadelphia by Action Wellness(known then as ActionAIDS) and is now in it’s 29th year. Through the simple act of dining out at one of the 200+ participating restaurants, you are giving back to three local HIV/AIDS service organizations: Action Wellness, AIDS Delaware, and Camden Area Health Education Center, Inc.
Earlier this year, Dining Out For Life International unveiled the organization’s new logo and branding, following a two-year planning and development process with Barkley®. The goal of the new logo and branding strategy is to create a connection between the national scope of Dining Out For Life and its mission to support community-based HIV/AIDS service organizations like Action Wellness. The new icon, a napkin in a “Bishop’s Hat” fold, comes from an era where napkin folding was the symbol of not just a meal, but a celebration.
The annual Dining Out For Life Food Truck Pop Up will not be returning in 2019. Although the event had been growing in size and attendance, Action Wellness has decided to re-strategize their efforts. By focusing their time, energy, and resources on Dining Out For Life, the dining fundraiser, the Action Wellness team can produce a bigger and better event than ever before.
Founded in Philadelphia in 1991 by Action Wellness (known then as ActionAIDS), Dining Out For Life is now produced in over 60 cities throughout the United States and Canada. Through the simple act of dining out, the event collectively raises over $4 million every year for HIV/AIDS service organizations. To assist Action Wellness and other local support groups, eat at your favorite participating restaurant on Thursday, April 18, and the restaurant will donate 33% of your food bill back to the organizations. You can also find exclusive Dining Out For Life products from Manatawny Still Works, Weckerly’s Ice Cream, ReAnimator Coffee, and Yards Brewing Company in the month of April. Each company will donate a portion of the sales from their Dining Out For Life product; stay tuned for their official release.
