Gloucester City - On January 25, 2019. Age 87. Predeceased by his loving wife, Gertrude C. Gallagher (nee Brown); daughter, Linda Gallagher; parents, Frances Zoble Gallagher and Joseph Gallagher and brother, Joseph Gallagher. Loving father of Charles Gallagher, Jr, William Gallagher (Deana), Debbie Saxenmeyer (Jack) and Patti Rodio (Wolf Echevarria) Beloved grandfather of Billy, Kelly, Beau, Kim, Jackie, Jessica, Erin, Randy, Beau, Leah, Kyle, Dean and David and great-grandfather of Danyelle, Jeremy, Bailey, Dalton, Bella, Jade, Beau, Brooks, Jack, Ashley and Mia. Dear brother of Robert Gallagher, David Gallagher (Rosalie), Elizabeth Hass, Dean Gallagher (Marcee), Peter Gallagher (Lynn) and Cora DiSimone.
Charles attended Haddonfield High School and proudly served as a Corporal in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a former Gloucester City Councilman and longtime member of the Gloucester City Lions Club and Sportsman A.C. Charles had a passion for golf. He was a member of Moorestown CC and Tavistock CC, where he was the Caddy Master at a young age. He held Club Champion at Spring Hill Club and Woodbury CC, as well as President Club Champion.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 from 10:30 to 11:45 AM at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial 12 Noon in the church. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
