Andrew Wesley was found guilty by a jury of 17 counts including Kidnapping, Attempted Murder, six counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault, three counts of Sexual Assault, two counts of Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats and weapon charges and witness tampering on August 2, 2018.
During the trial, Assistant Prosecutor Victoria Shilton presented substantial evidence and testimony proving that on November 27, 2016, Andre Wesley kidnapped a woman who was 22-years-old and homeless at the time, by forcing her at knifepoint to a secluded area behind a vacant building in the 900 block of 3rd Street in Camden. When they were in the secluded area, he forced the woman to engage in explicit sexual activity. Afterward, Andre Wesley slashed the victim across the neck and then leaving her on the ground before fleeing the scene.
Camden County Police responded to reports of a woman who’d been sexually assaulted and had her throat cut just after 6:33 p.m. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital after where she received treatment and was eventually released from the hospital.
Andre Wesley was arrested at his residence by Willingboro Police on December 2, 2016.
