Brooklawn's Two Street Stompers Ready for New Year's Day; Their Theme is "Mummers University"

BROOKLAWN, NJ (CNBNewsnet)(December 31, 2018)--Brooklawn's Two Street Stompers held their last practice Saturday and are looking forward to their annual march in the Philadelphia Mummers Parade on New Year's Day. This is their 41st parade. The Two Street Stompers are a family run Mummers Comic Brigade.
Approximately 230 members will be performing in the parade on New Year's Day. Many of the members come from the communities of Brooklawn, Gloucester City, Westville, Mantua, West Berlin and from throughout South Jersey.
The Two Street Stompers are the 2018 Comic Brigade Champions and are shooting for a repeat in 2019. They have won the Comic Brigade division’s top prize five times; 2018, 2015, 2012, 2009 and 2005. The club has also many Top Five and Top 10 performances over the years. The 2018 parade was the clubs 40th anniversary.
Tom Young, spokesman for the group said, "For this year’s Mummers Parade, the Two Street Stompers NYB will march 8th out of 11 Brigades as part of the Good Timers Comic club. Our theme this year is “Mummers University”. The idea of the theme came from member Sal Russo, of Fishtown, PA. He is a former resident of Gloucester City. "
