The NCAA Tournament bid is the eighth for Muhlenberg, all since 2002. The Mules' last bid came in 2014 and was also an at-large bid to play the Middle Atlantic Conference champion. Muhlenberg fell to Widener in that game, 36-35 on a last-second field goal.

Muhlenberg wrapped up its regular season with a 53-7 win at Moravian on Saturday, tying Johns Hopkins for the Centennial Conference championship. Hopkins received the CC automatic bid and will host MIT in a first-round game.

Delaware Valley (9-1) completed an undefeated MAC season with a 33-0 shutout of Widener on Saturday, winning its second straight conference crown. The Aggies are also in the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time, all since 2004, and had their best showing last year, reaching the quarterfinals.

This will be the second postseason meeting in three years between the two schools. In 2016, Delaware Valley defeated Muhlenberg, 30-27, in the inaugural Centennial-MAC Bowl Series.

In the last Division III polls of the regular season, Delaware Valley was ranked 13th by the American Football Coaches Association and 25th by D3football.com. Muhlenberg was 25th in the AFCA rankings and received votes in the D3football.com poll.
