The gala will honor Mrs. Jeanne Meredith, who retired as principal of Saint Mary at the end of the 2017-2018 academic year after over 15 years of service. She will receive the inaugural Golden Legacy Leader Award. She has previously received many accolades including the BLOCS Distinguished Principal of the Year (2016) and the PA-CAPE Primary Administrator of the Year (2017), among many other awards and achievements.

Mrs. Christina Haciski, Saint Mary Interparochial’s Director of Advancement said, “The entire Saint Mary community is thrilled to be celebrating our Golden Jubilee with this special event.  This celebration is a culmination of staff, parents, board members and friends who have dedicated countless hours to plan and carry out our year-long celebration.   We look forward to this special evening and to honoring deserving key members of our school family including Mrs. Meredith.  She is a visionary leader, and continues to be an integral part of the Saint Mary family in retirement.  Over her many years of dedicated service Jeanne has become a mentor and friend to many faculty and staff, as well as an inspiration to our students.  It is with great honor that we acknowledge our retired principal, Mrs. Jeanne Meredith, as our Golden Legacy Leader.”

In addition to the Golden Legacy Leader the gala will also honor the Children’s Scholarship Fund of Philadelphia (CSFP) with the Golden Partner in Education Award. CSFP is a privately funded program whose mission is to provide children from low-income Philadelphia families with financial access to quality, safe, kindergarten through eighth grade, tuition-based schools, thereby increasing their long-term economic and social success. These need-based scholarships are awarded by random lottery. CSFP currently serves more than 5,200 children enrolled at over 170 private and parochial schools. Saint Mary Interparochial School will honor CSFP as its Golden Partner In Education for making an outstanding faith-based education available to many of its school families.

Over the last year Saint Mary Interparochial has celebrated its Golden Jubilee through various activities involving students, teacher, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters, which included activities such as a Golden Gathering of Educators and Leaders, which brought together Saint Mary educators and leaders past and present for a gathering celebrating the jubilee for an event with prayer, viewing of a brief documentary from 1960-present depicting the life of Saint Mary Interparochial, and participation in the school’s Yayoi Kusama art installation.

Saint Mary will conclude its Golden Jubilee with a Mass of Thanksgiving celebrated by Bishop Michael Fitzgerald, who oversees Catholic Education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on the school’s feast day, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Old Saint Mary’s Church, 252 South 4th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106.  All students, faculty, and staff will be in attendance.  A "thank you" breakfast will follow Mass in Saint Mary Interparochial School’s all-purpose room.

Saint Mary Interparochial School challenges its diverse student body to grow morally, academically and socially into passionate, confident, and Christ-centered leaders of the 21st century.
