For over three decades, White has become known as a legend behind the lens in his career as one of the world's most sought-after celebrity photographers. The list of actors and rockers, divas and rebels that White has worked with read like a Who's Who list of Hollywood's greatest: Audrey Hepburn, Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Whitney Houston, Brad Pitt, Sophia Loren, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ray Charles, and Elizabeth Taylor have all found themselves in front of White's camera lens. He's photographed Harrison Ford so many times that the actor has referred to White as "the person who has chronicled my life."

White's rich and intimate portraits have been exhibited in the finest galleries and museums around the world. They've also become iconic album covers for artists such as Aretha Franklin, Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, and Jay-Z. From the cover of Rolling Stone to the pages of Vanity Fair, White's images have been featured in a variety of major publications, as well as on hundreds of movie posters. He's also published five books, including Timothy White: Portraits- Hollywood Pinups and Match Prints a collaboration with long time friend and legendary photographer Jim Marshall.

His creativity and vision have earned him numerous awards and honors for his work, including a Lucie Award for International Photographer of the Year, a Spotlight Award, and being named "One of the Most Influential People in Photography" by American Photo Magazine.

In 2013, White partnered with Morrison Hotel Gallery to open their Sunset Marquis location in Los Angeles. He curates and produces a wide variety of events for the gallery's L.A., Maui, and New York City locations, showcasing selections from his extensive archive as well as the work of other acclaimed music photographers.

Over the years, some of White's most critical work has happened close to his hometown. Born in Fort Lee, New Jersey, White has maintained his Jersey roots throughout his career. His exhibition Timothy White: Image Maker was the centerpiece of the 2003 Focus on Photography Ball for the Newark Museum. It featured stunning contemporary portraits of Aretha Franklin, Liza Minnelli, Julia Roberts, Queen Latifa, Jack Nicholson, and others. In 2010, he provided photographs of famous New Jerseyans to the New Jersey Hall of Fame Museum (which has since turned into a mobile exhibit) ahead of its grand opening. "I am humbled and honored by this nomination. Despite a career that has taken me around the world, this has great meaning to me because it brings me back to where it all began." White says.

One of his most passionate projects has also been his most personal one: White spent time photographing and compiling images of his aging parents, Joseph and Mary White, in and around their home in Fort Lee. He credits them with making him a more compassionate and accepting person, and says that documenting his parents' later years has given him a greater awareness and perspective on life.

White is also known for his charitable efforts. Over the years, he's assisted with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Riverkeeper, Earthshare, City Harvest, and the American Foundation for AIDS Research (AMFAR).

Voting for the final New Jersey Hall of Fame nominees runs through December 15, with the individuals receiving the most votes in each category being automatically inducted. The New Jersey Hall of Fame Class of 2018 inductees will be announced in late December and formally inducted in a red-carpet ceremony on the first Sunday in May.
