MAYS LANDING NJ (November 2018)(CNBNewsnet)--- Rafael Olmo, 35, (photo)was sentenced after he was convicted in July for 12 crimes related to drug distribution and weapons offenses, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.
Olmo was sentenced to the following prison terms in connection to his conviction of 12 crimes relating to drug distribution and weapons offenses that occurred in September through December of 2010, specifically, in Egg Harbor City and Galloway Township:
-1st degree Possession of Cocaine (one kilo) with Intent to Distribute: 48 years in New Jersey state prison; 20 years without parole. Extended term for repeat drug offenders.
-2nd degree Unlawful Possession of a Handgun: 15 years in New Jersey State Prison; 7.5 years without parole. Extended term for repeat handgun offenders.
-1st degree Distribution of Cocaine (totaling between 9-10 ounces of cocaine): 48 years in New Jersey State Prison; 20 years without parole
-3rd degree Tampering with a Witness: 5 years in New Jersey state prison
The above sentences will run concurrent to certain other convicted weapons and drug offenses, but consecutive to each other for an aggregate sentence of 116 years— 47.5 years without parole.
The sentence is also consecutive to Olmo’s present sentence of life in prison for the 2010 murder of Deanna Downs in Egg Harbor City.
