Showing coworkers tokens of appreciation can go a long way, especially during the holiday season.
The Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital Same-Day Surgery (SDS) Department did just that through their ‘Friendsgiving’ luncheon on November 19, as part of their monthly employee engagement get-together. SDS staff cooked and provided a Thanksgiving meal for their fellow Surgical Services associates in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Operating Room.
Colleen Farnum, BSN, RN, CPAN, Director of Surgical Services at the Cherry Hill campus, referenced the following quote by philanthropist W. Clement Stone while reflecting on her team’s good deed: “If you are really thankful, what do you do? You share.”
SDS staff also crafted a “Be Thankful” turkey for the luncheon, where they wrote on each of its “feathers” things they are grateful for this Thanksgiving.
Shown at the luncheon with the crafted “Be Thankful” turkey, are, from left: Lisa Widmeier, GI Tech; Judy Aulisio, RN, CAPA; Lynn Merrill, BSN, CAPA; Anna O'Connell, RN; Angeliki Fotakis, RN, CAPA, CGRN; Amanda Sigars, BSN; Brooke MacBride, BSN; Monica Rivera, GI Tech; and Gerry Romeo, BSN.
