Gloucester City Police Arrest Homeless Couple Sleeping in a Tent at Charles and Water Streets

 

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (November 16, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)--Gloucester City Police arrested a homeless couple on Monday who were sleeping in a tent in the Southport area of the City. Crime_scene_cuffs

According to police, on Monday, November 12 at 2:41 am  Ptl. Greg Coxe, while on patrol,  observed a tent set up on Charles St. at Water.  Upon investigating further, he observed a male and female sleeping in the tent.  Both were found to have outstanding warrants for their arrest.  Tito Diaz Jr. (32), currently homeless, was arrested on a warrant from Westville and additionally charged with possession of CDS (marijuana).  Brittany N. Emmons (26), currently homeless, was arrested on warrants from Gloucester City, Gloucester Twp., Camden City and West Deptford.   She was additional charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic syringes.  Both were released on bail.

In other matters, 

11/9 (9:30 am) Ptl. Bob Saunders III was called to the 1400 block of Rt. 130 for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

11/9 (6:58 pm) Ptl. Will DeFoney was called to Market St. at Broadway for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

11/9 (10:08 pm) Ptl. Greg Coxe was called to Rt. 130 at Klemm Ave. for a crash involving one vehicle.  No injuries were reported.

 

11/10 (12:38 pm) Ptl. Will DeFoney was called to the 1600 block of Market Street for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

11/11 (12:20 am) Dylan P. Weeks-Dixon (19), a resident of Merchantville, was arrested on Orlando Ave. at Sherwood by Ptl. George Spingler on warrants from Gloucester City and Haddon Twp.  He was released on bail.

 

11/11 (8:52 pm) Officers were dispatched to a residence in the unit block of Springdale Dr. for a reported dwelling fire.  Upon arrival, it was determined a dryer on the second floor was smoking and GCFD personnel remedied the situation.

 

 

 

11/12 (6:26 pm) Ofc. Johanna James was called to Broadway at Market St. for a crash involving one vehicle.  No injuries were reported.

 

11/13 (11:37 am) A resident of the 800 block of Little Somerset Street reported sometime between 5:30 pm and 9:00 pm on 11/12, someone stole two bicycles from under a tarp in her yard.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

11/13 (2:48 pm) Ptl. Don Fager III was called to Hunter St. at 6th. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

11/13 (3:00 pm) A traffic stop on N. Burlington St. at Essex conducted by DSgt. Carl DePoder and Inv. Tim Ryder resulted in the arrest of the driver.  Timothy E. McCoy (28), a resident of National Park, was arrested on a warrant from Camden City.  He was additionally charged with possession of CDS (cocaine) and driving on a suspended license.  He was released on bail.

 

11/13 (3:37 pm) Ptl. Don Fager III was called to Rt. 130 at Market St. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

11/13 (4:45 pm) Ptl. Mike Calzonetti and K9 Blitz were called to Rt. 130 at Klemm Ave. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

11/13 (5:22 pm) Ptl. Ben McKinney was called to Rt. 130 at Market St. for a crash involving two vehicles.  One injury was reported.

 

11/13 (6:43 pm) Ptl. Mike Calzonetti and K9 Blitz were called to Rt. 130 at Market St. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

11/13 (7:27 pm) Ptl. Sean Gartland was called to Rt. 130 at Market St. for a hit and run crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.

 

11/14 (4:35 pm) Ofc. Brittany Pollander was called to Division St. at 6th. for a hit and run crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.

 

11/14 (6:57 pm) A resident of the 800 block of Cumberland St. reported a bicycle was stolen from his garage.  The investigation is ongoing,

 

11/14 (7:05 pm) A traffic stop on Broadway at Morris St. conducted by Ptl. George Spingler resulted in the arrest of a passenger.  Kara M. Myers (21), a resident of the 300 block of Sherwood Ave. was arrested on warrants from Camden City.  She was additionally charged with possession of CDS (suboxone) and released on bail.

 

11/14 (8:11 pm) Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Powell St. for a reported dwelling fire.  Upon arrival, it was determined the fire started in a dryer in the basement.  GCFD personnel extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported.

 

11/15 (12:25 pm) Sgt. Ken Iepson was called to Rt. 130 at Market St. for a crash involving two vehicles.  One injury was reported.

 

11/15 (6:03 pm) Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of Powell St. for a reported dwelling fire.  Upon arrival, it was determined that an electrical box was smoking and GCFD personnel remedied the situation.

 

11/16 (8:33 am) Ptl. Don Fager III was called to Jersey Ave. at Koehler St. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

In addition, officers made (35) traffic stops and (240) property/business checks.  Officers made (11) arrests, responded to (14) domestic disputes, impounded (1) abandoned vehicle and managed (296) calls for service between November 9th. and October 15th.
