NEWARK, DELAWARE (Nov. 5, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)- – Following an investigation into a complaint about continued dumping of grocery bags filled with used cat litter along Four Seasons Parkway in Newark, Natural Resources Police Officers with the Environmental Crimes Unit arrested a Newark woman on Oct. 30 for illegal dumping of refuse. The complaint was received through the 24-hour complaint line regarding illegal dumping that took place in August, September, and October.
Deborah A. Collins, 58, was charged with three counts of causing or contributing to the disposal or discharge of solid waste materials. Each charge carries a minimum fine of $500.
Collins was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 in New Castle, where she plead guilty to two counts of causing or contributing to the disposal or discharge of solid waste materials. She was fined $1,000, plus court costs, and released.
