As we are still reeling from the events in Pittsburgh this weekend, I want to again extend sympathies on behalf of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania to those affected and thank all law enforcement and first responders who put their lives in harm's way as they worked to protect and help members of their community.
As I said in my statement to the media: The Republican Party of Pennsylvania condemns this shooting and all acts of violence motivated by intolerance, in the strongest terms possible.
As to the state of the election, we are about to approach the last full week before the 2018 General Election and, this week, our Party's efforts across the Commonwealth increased as we continue to work to get the message out about Republican candidates and encourage voters to get to the polls on November 6th.
This week I was happy to travel to Northeastern Pennsylvania where I spoke at an event with Eric Trump in support of John Chrin’s campaign for Congress.
John has a great chance to flip a Democrat seat red and we were happy to welcome the President’s son to Pennsylvania to lend his voice to the Chrin campaign effort.
National support for our candidates did not stop there.
On Wednesday, Vice President Mike Pence came to Pennsylvania to support Republican candidates like Lou Barletta, Scott Wagner, John Chrin, Scott Perry, and Lloyd Smucker.
I had the pleasure of welcoming the Vice President at his stop in Forty-Fort Luzerne County.
Vice Chair Bernie Comfort also spoke at the Vice President’s pre-rally program in Lancaster Wednesday in support of Scott Perry and Lloyd Smucker.
On Tuesday, I was happy to join our Lackawanna County Republican Committee as they held their annual fall dinner.
On Thursday night, I was thrilled to introduce Kimberly Guilfoyle to the Montgomery County Republican Committee fall dinner.
Also on Tuesday, I held a press call to call out the use of liberal dark money to spread lies about our Congressional and state House of Representatives candidates.
You can read more about that HERE or by clicking on the image below.
On Wednesday, I was on statewide television appearing on PCN’s call-in program with the Chair of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party as we answered callers’ questions about the upcoming election.
Finally, for a county chair recognition this week, I want to recognize the work of Lackawanna County Chairman Lance Stange.
Chairman Stange did a great job this week in working to get the Lackawanna County GOP office ready for Eric Trump’s visit and held a great dinner in Dickson City that featured many of our great candidates.
Until my next update, feel free to keep up with the latest by checking out the PA GOP website at www.pagop.org.
