City Police Investigate 4 Burglaries; 2 Solved

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (October 19,2018)(CNBNewsnet)--Gloucester City Police are investigating four burglaries that occurred over the past week. A suspect has been arrested for one of the four crimes.

10/15 (1:55 pm) Ptl. Don Fager III was dispatched to the 500 block of Elm St. for a reported theft in progress.  Upon arrival, the suspect was located.  He had entered private property and was stealing scrap metal.  Michael C. Just Jr. (31), a resident of Sicklerville was arrested and charged with defiant trespass and theft.  He was additionally found to be a fugitive from justice wanted in Camden County.  He was lodged in Camden County Jail.

10/16 (2:42 am) Ptl. John Bryszewski responded to King St. at Essex for a report of a male attempting to burglarize vehicles.  Upon arrival, a resident provided a description of the male and a short time later, Ptl. Sean Gartland located a male matching that description on Jersey Ave. at 6th. St.  Further investigation resulted with the arrest of Brian M. Beebe (34), a resident of Newfield.  He admitted to attempting to burglarize the vehicles and was additionally charged with Possession of CDS (prescription medication).  He was also found to be a fugitive from justice wanted in Salem County.  He was lodged in Camden County Jail.

10/17 (11:10 pm) Officers responded to Art’s Deli on Broadway for a reported burglary.  Upon arrival, it was reported a male had burglarized the business, forced open the cash register and stole cash before fleeing the scene.  Surveillance video of the suspect, who was wearing a mask, has been obtained and the investigation is ongoing.

10/16 (12:35 pm) A resident of the 900 block of Hudson St. reported her residence was burglarized sometime overnight between 10/14 and 10/15.  Entry is believed to have been made through an unlocked rear door and personal items were stolen from the residence.  The investigation is ongoing.

In other matters, 

10/12 (4:55 am) Officers responded to the 300 block of Middlesex St. for a reported fire.  Upon arrival, the rear of a vacant residence was found engulfed in flames.  All of the occupants of the two adjoining residences had already evacuated prior to arrival.  All three residences were damaged as a result of the fire, which was extinguished by GCFD personnel.  No injuries were reported.

10/12 (4:43 pm) Ptl. Joe Eller was called to Rt. 130 at Market St. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

10/12 (4:53 pm) Sgt. Bill Johnson Jr. was called to Rt. 130 at Klemm Ave. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

10/13 (2:06 am) Ptl. Will DeFoney was called to the parking lot of Cheerleaders Gentlemen’s Club on Rt. 130 for a hit and run crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.

10/15 (7:32 am) Sgt. Bill Eller was called to Rt. 130 at Market St. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

10/16 (6:12 am) Ptl. Don Fager III was called to Oxford Ave. for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

10/16 (7:05 pm) A traffic stop on Broadway at Burlington Street conducted by Ofc. Johanna James resulted with the arrest of the driver, Craig W. Powers (33), a resident of Little Egg Harbor.  He was arrested on warrants from Berlin, Evesham and Waterford Twp.  He was released on bail.

 

10/16 (11:09 am) Ptl. Sean Gartland was called to Rt. 130 at Market Street for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

10/17 (2:54 pm) Sandra N. Kirk (33), a resident of Elmwood Ave. was arrested at her residence by Sgt. Ken Iepson on warrants from Gloucester City.  She was lodged in Camden County Jail.

 

10/18 (12:10 pm) Austin E. Carey (21), a resident of the 800 block of Cumberland Street, was arrested on Broadway at Somerset by DSgt. Carl DePoder on a warrant from Brooklawn.  He was released on bail.

 

10/18 (2:58 pm) Robert L. Tredway (39), a resident of the 200 block of Somerset St. was arrested in the 700 block of Hunter St. by Ptl. Sean Saunders on warrants from Gloucester City.  He was released on bail.

 

10/18 (11:03 pm) A traffic stop on Essex St. at Collings Ave. conducted by Ptl. Greg Coxe resulted with the arrest of two individuals:  Julio C. Perez (21), a resident of Pennsauken, was arrested and charged with possession of CDS (marijuana), possession of brass knuckles and possession of an imitation firearm.  Boshir R. Wilson (19), a resident of Pennsauken, was arrested on a warrant from Pennsauken and additionally charged with possession of CDS (marijuana).  Both were released.

 

In addition, officers made (37) traffic stops and (194) property/business checks.  Officers made (13) arrests, responded to (10) domestic disputes, impounded (3) abandoned vehicles and managed (303) calls for service between October 12th. and October 18th.
