GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (September 1, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)--According to Gloucester City Police Lt. Steve Burkhardt at 5:02 am today, Saturday, a vehicle struck a utility pole on Rt. 130 south in front of Universal Supply and snapped the pole, causing the power lines to fall onto the vehicle. Nobody was injured and the utility pole is currently being replaced. The solar panel, laying on the ground in the distance in front of the black truck was knocked off an adjoining pole.
Burkhardt said the driver reported he was forced off the road by a vehicle making an illegal left turn out of the Budget Inn parking lot, (located across the street from Universal) onto Rt. 130 south.
The investigation is ongoing.
