Joseph W. Kessler of Runnemede; Longtime Police Chief; WWII Marine Veteran

Beloved husband of Irene (nee Piersanti). Loving father of Brian Kessler. Dear grandfather of Brian, Michael, Zachary and Lindsey and great grandfather of Christian and Michael. Uncle of Charlotte, Diane and Cleo. Good friend of Carol.

Mr. Kessler was in the Fifth Marine Division at the Battle of Iwo Jima.

He was a Runnemede Police Officer for 27 years, serving as Police Chief for 20 years. He was Past President of the Camden County Police Chiefs Association.

He was a member of the Runnemede Senior Citizens.

Mr. Kessler worked for Ruoff & Sons for seven years. He was a former Little League assistant baseball coach for the Runnemede Lions.

There will be a visitation from 10am to 12noon Monday at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Memorial Service 12noon at the funeral home.

Interment private.

Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mr. Kessler’s memory to Alzheimer’s Assoc., 3 Eves Dr., Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
