James F. “Newk” Newcome, of Brooklawn; Retired PSE&G Employee; Vietnam War Veteran

On September 22, 2018. Age 69. Of Brooklawn. Born in Audubon, he was the son of the late John C. Newcome, Sr. and Hannah (Johnson) Newcome. Loving and devoted husband of 44 years to Patricia A. Newcome (nee Waldron). Loving father of James Newcome (Rachael) and Joseph Newcome (Jennifer). Cherished grandfather of Taylor, Alexander, Elizabeth, Colyn, Benjamyn and Loryen. Beloved brother of Juliann Koenig (Fred). Predeceased by his siblings, John Newcome, Dorothy Franceschini and Joseph Newcome. Also survived by his sister in law, Diane Newcome and many nieces and nephews.
James proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was employed by PSE&G as a welder for 25 years in Salem, NJ having retired in 2005. He was a member of the IBEW Local 94. Newk was a member of the VFW Post # 3620 in Gloucester City and he coached the Gloucester City Mustangs for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM and again on Thursday morning from 9 to 10 AM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 10:30 AM in St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Gloucester City. Interment private in Brig Gen. Doyle Veteran’s Cemetery, Arneytown.
