PHILADELPHIA – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the nation’s border security agency, is hosting an employment resource and career fair September 13, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the U.S. Custom House, 200 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia.
CBP is hiring CBP officers and Border Patrol agents for positions across the country. Officers and agents detect and prevent terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering the United States, enforce customs and immigration laws and regulations, and prevent the illegal trafficking of humans, narcotics and other contraband into the U.S.
CBP officers work at our nation’s 328 air, land and sea ports of entry, and at preclearance stations and embassies overseas.
Border Patrol agents secure our international land border and coastal waters between the ports of entry.
“Customs and Border Protection fills a vital role in our nation’s security, and CBP vigilantly protects against dangerous individuals and imports that threaten our citizens, our economy, and our way of life,” said Casey Durst, CBP’s Field Operations Director in Baltimore. “CBP is in the midst of unprecedented hiring opportunities, and we need to fill officer and agent positions at many locations across our great nation. If you have what it takes to serve your country on our nation’s frontlines, then apply to join our team today.”
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and resident for the last three years, have a valid driver's license, pass a medical examination, plus fitness and drug tests. Applicants must also pass a thorough background investigation and polygraph examination.
