GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (August 13, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)--Thadius Wyatt Oswald, (DOB 7/23/99), of Paulsboro, NJ, was arrested and charged Monday, August 13, 2018, with the shooting death of 32-year-old Misael Ruiz Garcia of Woodbury, New Jersey, Gloucester County Prosecutor Charles Fiore announced.
On August 11, 2018, at approximately 11:33 pm, Woodbury City Police officers were dispatched to 53B E. Centre Street, Woodbury, Gloucester County, New Jersey for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered Mr. Garcia’s body outside his residence.
An autopsy performed by Gloucester County Medical Examiner Dr. Gerald Feigin on August 12, 2018, concluded that Mr. Garcia’s death was caused by a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death was determined to be homicide.
Officers of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Fugitive Unit and the U.S. Marshal’s Service New York-New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force took Oswald into custody without incident in Gloucester City, New Jersey.
Oswald, a 19-year-old factory worker, is charged by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office with first-degree murder; first-degree robbery; second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose; third-degree unlawful possession of a weapon; third-degree theft; and third-degree burglary. He is being held in Salem County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.
