GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ (July 24, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)-The Gloucester Township Police Department (GTPDP) released the following statement on how the department has been able to reduce overall crime  by 34% and violent crime by 53% since 2010.

If you are thinking about committing crime in Gloucester Township, think again. The Gloucester Township Police are watching you. Conducting criminal activity in a busy shopping center or parking lot doesn't disguise your illegal acts.

On July 20th and 21st of 2018 the Gloucester Township Police Operations Response Units (ORU) conducted several crime suppression operations at various businesses locations within Gloucester Township to help ensure the safety of merchants and shoppers. Officer’s strategically targeted various victimized businesses within the Sicklerville and Blackwood sections of Gloucester Township.  These officers utilized varying deployment strategies including high visibility uniformed patrol, officer bicycle patrols, and plain clothes undercover surveillance officers. During the course of this operation a total of five adults were arrested for various criminal offenses.

This initiative serves as another example of how the Gloucester Township Police Department has reduced overall crime by 34% and violent crime by 53% since 2010 while also clearly sending a message that such criminal activity will not be tolerated in Gloucester Township.
