New Jersey Assemblyman Arthur Barclay, of the Fifth Legislative District, Resigns

The Courier Post  reported Barclay's resignation came about after he was arrested on June 7 for domestic abuse.

CAMDEN COUNTY NJ (June 18, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)--Today, Camden County Democratic Committee Chairman James Beach issued the following statement regarding Assemblyman Barclay who represents the 5th Legislative District. 


"Effective immediately, Assemblyman Arthur Barclay has resigned as a member of the New Jersey General Assembly for health reasons. The county committee members of the Fifth Legislative District will convene in the next 8 to 10 days to fill the vacancy created by the resignation."

Arthur Barclay was sworn in on January12, 2016 as a member of the New Jersey General Assembly. Assemblyman Barclay previously served as a Camden City Council Member.
