ShowStoppers showcases high school students from Philadelphia, suburbs, and South Jersey
The Kimmel Center ShowStoppers Summer Camp is a two week performing arts intensive for high school students in grades 7-12. This summer, 41 high school students from the tri-state area were selected to take part in this fast-paced program and were able to maximize their skills in theater, voice, and dance under the direction of Kimmel Center expert teaching artists. The Kimmel Center Showstoppers Summer Camp is an opportunity for like-minded high schoolers to make new friends, gain confidence, and learn new skills working together with musical theater professionals in the region’s most impactful performing arts center environment.
This year’s showcase Disney’s The Little Mermaid has thrilled audiences young and old since the film debut in 1989. The popularity of the animated film led to the launch of the Broadway version in 2008. The Kimmel Center ShowStoppers Summer Camp students will perform this production with amazing flare and spectacular costumes.
