Gloucester City PD Crime Report: K9 Blitz Assists in the Arrest of Two Suspects on Narcotic Charges

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (June 8, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)--Gloucester City Police arrested two individuals on Wednesday, June 6 following a routine traffic stop on Brown Street at Middlesex Street. According to the crime report, on that date at 8:35 PM,  Ptl. Sean Saunders and Shea O’Donnell conducted a traffic stop on Brown Street at Middlesex Street.  During the course of the stop, Ptl. Mike Calzonetti and K9 Blitz were called to the location to conduct an open air narcotics sniff around the exterior of the vehicle.  K9 Blitz alerted to the presence of narcotics odor coming from the vehicle and a subsequent search led to the recovery of cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia.  Randi L. Contravo (23), a resident of the 800 block of Cumberland Street, was arrested and charged with possession of CDS (cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Daniel A. Welzell III (30), a resident of West Deptford, was arrested and charged with possession of CDS (heroin).  Both were released.

6/1 (3:16 pm) A traffic stop on Broadway at King Street conducted by Inv. Tim Ryder and Det. Joe Hopkins resulted in the arrest of two individuals.  Caitlin J. Mollica (25), a resident of Sewell was arrested and charged with possession of CDS (heroin and crack cocaine) and released.  David J. Tait (27), a resident of Sewell, was arrested on warrants from Deptford Twp.  He was additionally charged with possession of CDS (heroin and crack cocaine) and possession of a hypodermic syringe.  He was released on bail.

 

6/1 (6:45 pm) A traffic stop on Burlington Street at Broadway conducted by Ptl. Sean Gartland resulted in the arrest of the following individuals.  Ralph L. Rosato (49), a resident of Woodbury, was arrested on a warrant from Camden City.  He was additionally charged with driving on a suspended license.  He was released on bail.  Chaniese L. Muse (26), a resident of Camden, was found to be a fugitive from justice wanted by the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office.  She was additionally charged with possession of CDS (heroin) and possession of hypodermic syringes.  She was lodged in Camden County Jail.

 

6/1 (9:14 pm) Officers responded to the area of Hudson and Ellis Streets for a report of a woman trying to open the doors of parked vehicles.  Upon arrival in the area, Sgt. Ken Iepson and Ptl. John Bryszewski observed a woman, matching the description provided, exiting the passenger side of a parked vehicle.  Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Holly M. Boddingham (27), a resident of the 200 block of Orlando Avenue.  She was charged with burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia before being released, as per bail reform guidelines.

 

6/2 (3:09 pm) Cpl. Bill Lessig was called to Rt. 130 at Klemm Avenue for a crash involving two vehicles.  Two injuries were reported.

 

6/3 (11:42 am) Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of S. Broadway for a report of a male who forced the screens open on the enclosed front porch and attempted to remove a bicycle.  The suspect fled south on Broadway on a bicycle after being confronted by the homeowner.  Cpl. Bill Lessig located a male matching the description on New Jersey Road in Brooklawn.  Further investigation led to the positive identification of the male as the suspect and he was arrested.  Edwin G. Rosa (47), a resident of Woodbury, was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools.  He was released as per bail reform guidelines.

 

6/3 (8:49 pm) Ptl. Sean Gartland was called to Rt. 130 at Market Street for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

6/4 (4:44 pm) A traffic stop on Broadway at Morris Street conducted by Ptl. George Spingler and Shea O’Donnell resulted in the arrest of Robert C. Lafferty 3rd. (32), a resident of Williamstown.  He was charged with possession of CDS (crack cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia, before being released.

 

6/5 (12:28 am) Jeannette H. Fox (44), a resident of Linden Street, was arrested on Broadway at King Street by Ptl. Blaise O’Donnell and K9 Demo on warrants from Gloucester City and Camden City.  She was additionally charged with possession of hypodermic syringes and released on bail.

 

6/5 (4:16 pm) Ptl. Sean Saunders and George Spingler conducted a traffic stop on Morris Street at Railroad Avenue.  During the course of the stop, Ptl. Blaise O’Donnell and K9 Demo were called to the location to conduct an open air narcotics sniff around the exterior of the vehicle.  K9 Demo alerted to the presence of narcotic odor coming from the vehicle and a subsequent search led to the recovery of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia from the trunk.  Lauren M. Ferullo (36), a resident of Brooklawn, was arrested and charged with possession of CDS (cocaine and marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia before being released.

 

6/5 (6:50 pm) A traffic stop on Broadway at Monmouth Street conducted by Ptl. Blaise O’Donnell and K9 Demo resulted in the arrest of Russell J. Aldrich (41), a resident of Franklin Twp.  He was arrested on warrants from Jamesburg Boro and later turned over to Jamesburg Police.

 

6/6 (2:52 pm) A traffic stop on I-76 east at exit 1C conducted by Ptl Shea O’Donnell and Sean Saunders resulted in the arrests of the following individuals.  John W. Disman (41), a resident of the 200 block of Monmouth Street, was arrested and charged with possession of CDS (heroin and crack cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Maria G. Balsamo (23), a resident of Woodbury, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.  Both were released.

 

6/6 (5:34 pm) While on patrol, Sgt. Jason Flood was stopped in traffic on Market Street at Lane Avenue when he was struck from behind by another vehicle.  No injuries were reported.

In addition, officers made (40) traffic stops, (246) property/business checks and (10) school visits.  Officers made (21) arrests, responded to (12) domestic disputes, impounded (1) abandoned vehicle and managed (336) calls for service between June 1st. and June 7th.
