LOWER TOWNSHIP NJ (May 4, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)--The Lower Township Police Department is having a free police youth camp for students who will be entering 6th, 7th and 8th grades this September 2018. The summer camp is set to run from July 30 through August 3, 2018, with a graduation on Friday, August 3, 2018, at the county park.
The camp is designed to foster a positive and healthy interaction between police officers and the children in our community. Young people attending the camp will focus on building self-esteem, teamwork, good decision-making, communication skills and other educational lessons focused on life skills.
Come join the Lower Township Police Department for an exciting week of fun-filled activities including:
- K-9 Demonstrations
- SWAT Demonstrations
- Police Simulators
- Police Drills
- Field Trips, and much more!
Enrollment begins May 1st and ends on June 1st. Please complete an application and return it to Officer William Barcas the Lower Township Police Department by June 1st. Applications are attached and can be downloaded from this announcement or can be obtained from our facebook page or our website at www.lowertownshippolice.com.
Completed applications can be dropped off at the Department, Monday through Friday from 8-4, or mailed to the following address:

If more youth register than can be accommodated, a lottery system will be used. Acceptance letters will be sent out by July 1, 2018. Campers must be able to attend the entire week of camp, including graduation. There will also be a MANDATORY parent meeting for selected campers will be held on Tuesday, July 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lower Township Recreation Center, 2600 Bayshore Road, Villas.
