Jefferson Health – New Jersey Associates Volunteer to Help ‘Stamp Out Hunger’

A group of Jefferson Health – New Jersey associates and family members volunteered Saturday, May 12, at the Food Bank of South Jersey’s (FBSJ) Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive event in Pennsauken.

The group unloaded and sorted non-perishable food items donated by area residents for distribution to people in need. Now in its 26th year, the Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive, sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers, is held in all 50 states each on the second Saturday of May.

On this day, U.S. mail carriers both deliver mail and collect food donations. Held in May because most food banks face a depletion in donations from the holiday season, it is nation’s largest single-day food drive: last year, some 80 million pounds of food was collected.
