Four Men Charged in Connection with Knife Fight Homicide in Paulsboro

PAULSBORO NJ (May 22, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)--Four Paulsboro NJ men have been charged with aggravated assault in connection with a fight in Paulsboro Sunday afternoon (5/20/18) that resulted in the death of 19-year-old Paulsboro resident, Amir Tarpley.
An investigation of the incident by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and the Paulsboro Police Department is ongoing. Charges against the individuals involved in the attack may be upgraded once the investigation is completed.
Those arrested and charged are: Aaron Hickox (DOB 10/13/99), Archie Hickox (DOB 10/13/99), Arteste J. Ruffin (DOB 4/11/76) and Kishon Pierce (DOB 3/24/00). The arrested individuals were remanded to the Salem County Correctional Facility pending detention hearings.
Archie Hickox, Aaron’s twin, Ruffin and Pierce are all charged with committing aggravated assault by aiding and conspiring with Aaron Hickox to assault Tarpley.
An autopsy conducted by Assistant Gloucester County Medical Examiner, Dr. Charles Siebert, determined the cause of Tarpley’s Death was a stab wound to the chest and the manner of death was homicide.
Paulsboro police were dispatched to West New Street in the borough at 12:56 p.m. Sunday for a report of fighting involving knives. Officers found Tarpley suffering from stab wounds. He was pronounced deceased at Inspira Medical Center at 1:34 p.m.
