Atlantic City Electric Expands Incentives for Electric Vehicle Shoppers

Company partners with Nissan and BMW to provide thousands in discounts on electric vehicles

 

MAYS LANDING, N.J. (May 16, 2018)(CNBNewsnet) – Nissan and BMW are offering Atlantic City Electric customers special incentives that can save them thousands of dollars on the cost of certain all-electric vehicle (EV) models. In addition to the manufacturer incentives, customers could also qualify for up to $7,500 in federal tax credits. Certain EVs also are exempt from sales and use tax in New Jersey. 

These offerings are part of Atlantic City Electric’s broader efforts to provide new and innovative services and options for customers across the company’s southern New Jersey service area.  

“Consumers across New Jersey are turning to cleaner energy and transportation alternatives, including electric vehicles,” said Susan Coan, Atlantic City Electric region vice president. “We are partnering with our customers, helping them make these important energy choices as we work together to advance a clean and sustainable energy future for our customers, communities, and all New Jerseyans.”

Nissan is offering Atlantic City Electric customers a $3,000 rebate off the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) on the 2018 LEAF. This offer is available from Nissan North America Inc., through June 30, 2018, or while supplies last. To qualify for the savings, customers must bring a copy of this flyerand show their Atlantic City Electric bill to participating Nissan dealerships.

BMW is offering Atlantic City Electric customers $10,000 off the best negotiated purchase price of a new all-electric BMW i3 or BMW i3s through July 31, 2018. To redeem the offer, customers should bring their Atlantic City Electric bill and a completed Atlantic City Electric customer information form to their local dealership.

As part of the company’s efforts to advance electric vehicle technology across New Jersey, Atlantic City Electric requested New Jersey Board of Public Utilities approval of a suite of voluntary electric vehicle programs to provide customers with reduced electric rates, credits, rebates, and other incentives to purchase and own electric vehicles.
