(CNBNewsnet)(May 31, 2018)--Gender Watch 2018 has issued outlooks ahead of next week's primary elections in Alabama, California, Iowa, Montana, Mississippi, New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota. In total, 122 women will appear on 8 states ballots for congressional and statewide offices, the largest number of women appearing on ballots on any single primary day in 2018. They represent 24.3% of all major party candidates on primary ballots next week.
Each outlook contains data on the number of women running in congressional and statewide contests, women as a proportion of all candidates (by party), and historical comparisons. All of the primary outlooks are available here: https://www.genderwatch2018.org/category/primary-outlook/

Full lists of women candidates in each state, as well as a national summary of women's candidacies, are available via the Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP), partner to the Gender Watch 2018 project.
