Reviving OD Victims, Vehicle Crashes, Warrant Violations Keep Gloucester City Police Busy

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (April 6, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)--Gloucester City Police made (102) traffic stops and (186) property/business checks.  Officers made (16) arrests, responded to (11) domestic disputes, impounded (6) abandoned vehicles and managed (326) calls for service between March 30th. and April 5th

The department released the following report of crimes over that period of time. 

3/30 (11:10 am) A resident of the 800 block of Cumberland Street reported sometime during the previous two days, a green folding chair was stolen from his front porch.  The investigation is ongoing.

3/30 (11:45 am) Ptl. Sean Gartland responded to the 1400 block of Thompson Avenue for a reported overdose.  Upon arrival, the (22) year old male Bellmawr resident was found unconscious, but breathing.  Ptl. Gartland administered one dose of Naloxone and the male regained consciousness.  He was transported to an area hospital for further treatment.

3/30 (12:10 pm) A resident of Mt. Ephraim reported sometime overnight, a tire on her car was slashed while parked in the 300 block of Mercer Street.  The investigation is ongoing.

3/30 (3:47 pm) A resident of the 500 block of Essex Street reports two children’s bicycles were stolen from his rear shed.  The investigation is ongoing.

3/30 (4:58 pm) Ptl. Blaise O’Donnell and K9 Demo were called to a crash in the 300 block of 8th. Street involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

3/30 (8:03 pm) James J. Burkhardt (58), a resident of the 800 block of Hudson Street, was arrested in the 100 block of Princeton Avenue by Ptl. Blaise O’Donnell and K9 Demo on warrants from Gloucester City and Bellmawr.  He was later released on bail.

3/30 (6:27 pm) Ptl. Greg Coxe responded to a residence in the 800 block of Monmouth Street for a reported overdose.  Upon arrival, the (29) year old female resident of Sicklerville was found unconscious and not breathing.  Ptl. Coxe administered one dose of Naloxone and the female regained consciousness.  She was transported to an area hospital for further treatment.

3/31 (8:13 am) Ptl. Sean Gartland was called to Holt Logistics for a crash involving one tractor trailer.  No injuries were reported.

3/31 (2:00 pm) Ptl. Brittany Pollander was called to Rt. 130 at Market Street for a crash involving two vehicles.  Two injuries were reported.

3/31 (2:06 pm) Ptl. Sean Gartland was called to the parking lot at Bank of America for a reported crash involving one vehicle.  No injuries were reported.

3/31 (6”07 pm) The owner of a vacant residence in the 400 block of Middlesex Street reported a window of the residence was broken and copper piping was stolen from the basement.  The investigation is ongoing.

4/1 (6:20 pm) Ptl. Keith Wall responded to a residence in the 400 block of Middlesex Street for a reported overdose.  Upon arrival, the (57) year old male resident was found unconscious but breathing.  Ptl. Wall administered one dose of Naloxone and the male regained consciousness.  He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

4/1 (9:05 pm) Daniel R. Dempsey (19), a resident of Sicklerville, was arrested at the Budget Motel on Rt. 130 by Ptl. Keith Wall.  He was arrested for defiant trespassing and later released.

4/1 (9:53 pm) Officers and GCFD personnel responded to a residence in the 800 block of Little Somerset Street for as reported bonfire.  Upon arrival, the fire had already been extinguished.

4/3 (12:37 am) Ptl. Ben McKinney responded to Royal Farms on Rt. 130 for a reported shoplifting.  Upon arrival, it was determined that a male and female removed items from the store without paying and fled in a vehicle.  The investigation is ongoing.

4/3 (1:46 pm) Cpl. Bill Lessig responded to a residence in the 400 block of Mercer Street for a reported criminal mischief.  Upon arrival, the resident reported sometime overnight, the side view mirror on his car was stolen.  The investigation is ongoing.

4/3 (7:42 pm) Ptl. John Bryszewski was called to Rt. 130 at Market Street for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

4/4 (8:20 am) A resident of Rutgers Avenue reported sometime overnight, the driver’s side front window of her car was smashed.  The investigation is ongoing.

4/4 (3:55 pm) A traffic stop on N. Broadway at Middlesex Street conducted by Ptl Sean Saunders resulted in the arrest of Ariana Marrero (36), a resident of Camden.  She was arrested on a warrant from Gloucester City and later released on bail.

4/4 (7:32 pm) A traffic stop on Essex Street at Collings Avenue conducted by Ptl. Tim Ryder resulted in the arrest of Dean V. Capra (50), a resident of Woodbury.  He was arrested on warrants from Collingswood and Camden City and additionally charged with driving on a suspended license.  He was later released on bail.

 

4/4 (9:50 pm) A traffic stop in the 1300 block of Rt. 130 conducted by Ptl. Greg Coxe resulted in the arrest of Damion Reaves (20), a resident of Deptford Twp.  He was arrested on a warrant from Glassboro and additionally charged with driving on a suspended license.  He was later turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department.

 

4/5 (2:06 am) A traffic stop on Rt. 130 at Market Street conducted by Ptl. Greg Coxe resulted in the arrest of the driver and a passenger.  The driver, Wayne A. Stewart (21), a resident of Sicklerville, was charged with possession of CDS (marijuana) and driving without a license.  Dorin R. Moore (29), a resident of Philadelphia, was arrested on a warrant from Deptford Twp.  Both were later released.

 

4/5 (2:03 pm) A traffic stop on Rt. 130 at Market Street conducted by Ptl. Ben McKinney resulted in the arrest of Shanaya L. Allen (32), a resident of Washington Twp.  She was arrested on a warrant from Deptford Twp.  She was later released on bail.

 

4/5 (3:32 pm) A traffic stop on Rt. 130 at Market Street conducted by Ptl. Ben McKinney resulted in the arrest of John Mountes (49), a resident of the 500 block of Morris Street.  He was arrested on warrants from Haddon Heights and Haddon Twp.  He was later released on bail.

 

4/5 (6:36 pm) Ptl. Keith Wall responded to the parking lot of Gloucester Liquors for a crash involving one vehicle.  No injuries were reported.

 

4/5 (10:30 pm) A traffic stop on Market Street at St. Mary’s conducted by Ptl. Greg Coxe resulted in the arrest of Jessie A. Boggs (24), a resident of Camden.  He was arrested on warrants from Camden City, Lindenwold and additionally charged with possession of CDS (marijuana).  He was later released on bail.
