Oil Tanker Catches Fire in Cape May County Airport Complex-Entrance now open

LOWER TOWNSHIP NJ (CNBNewsnet) On Thursday, April 19 at approximately 13:04hrs the Lower Township Police Department responded to the Cape May County Airport for a report of an Oil Tanker on fire. Officer Kaitlin Black arrived on scene and immediately began evacuating the immediate area. The entrance to the Airport was blocked off and the Erma Volunteer Fire Company arrived on scene to extinguish the fire. Due to the Fire Departments swift response, the fire was quickly extinguished. The Oil Tanker and an additional vehicle that was parked next to the Tanker sustained major damage. Additionally, an electric pole and transformer owned by Atlantic City Electric also sustained damage.

There are no reported injuries at the time of this release.
