Camden City Man Guilty of Jose Franco Murder

CAMDEN CITY NJ (April 30, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)--Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced a Camden man has been convicted for his role in the murder of 34-year-old Jose Franco.
On Thursday, April 26, 2018, Reymond Pagan, 32, of Camden, was found guilty of first degree Felony Murder, first degree Armed Robbery, first degree Aggravated Manslaughter, second degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, second degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and second degree Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons after a jury trial. At the trial, Assistant Prosecutor Mike Mink presented evidence that Pagan was involved in the murder of Jose Franco along with co-defendant, Samuel Lopez. Jose Franco was murdered during an armed robbery in the area of 28th Street and Pierce Avenue in Camden around 11:30 pm, on September 27, 2015. The victim succumbed to his injuries and died at Cooper University Hospital.
Samuel Lopez, 20, also from Camden, was sentenced to 45 years in prison for the murder of Jose Franco, on November 17, 2017.
Sentencing for Pagan is scheduled on June 1, 2018, before the Honorable John T. Kelley, JSC.
