Attempted Homicide Suspect Arrested by U.S. Marshals Task Force in Bloomsburg

Williamsport, PA (CNBNewsnet)- U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced that the arrest of Omar Reddy, 19, in Bloomsburg, PA. On April 13, 2016, the Philadelphia Police Department obtained an arrest warrant charging Reddy with an attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault and other related offenses for his involvement in a shooting which occurred in Philadelphia on April 2nd. U.S. Marshals in Philadelphia were asked to assist in locating Reddy. Their fugitive investigation indicated that Reddy may have fled to the Bloomsburg area. An investigative lead was sent to their counterparts in the Williamsport office for assistance.



U.S. Marshals and its task force partners located and arrested Reddy without incident in the 1300 block of Cub Circle in Bloomsburg. He was turned over to local authorities for pending criminal proceedings.

United States Marshal Pane stated, “The coordination and cooperation demonstrated by law enforcement in this case led directly to a dangerous fugitive being taken off the streets. It is our top priority to arrest violent crime fugitives, especially those who have no regard for human life.”

During this fugitive investigation, the USMS worked jointly with officers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Lycoming County Sheriff’s Office, Berwick Police Department, Scott Township Police Department and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania with its task force partners.
