GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (February 26, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)--A public review of the proposed Master Plan for the community was held last week on February 21. The next meeting to discuss the Master Plan Draft will be April 18, 2018 at 313 Monmouth Street at 7:30pm.
Adrianne Parent, the Planning and Zoning Board secretary said action was tabled by Board members last week "in order to allow draft changes to the document. "
According to the Master Plan's Introduction the reason for the Plan is to provide a set of policies for the City of Gloucester City that will guide municipal officials, the planning and Zoning Board, and cites on decisions and regulations within the City. The Master Plan is a broad policy document that guides the use of lands within the community. It also Guides the future physical, economic, and social development of a community. The Master Plan contains an inventory of the municipality's existing conditions, articulates the community's vision and goals, identifies its needs, and provides long-range policy recommendations for achieveing the community's vision and goals for the future. It is the principal document used to formulated the contents of a community's zoning ordinance and subdivision regulations. The Master Plan is intended to serve as a road map and reference guide so that future community decisions are made in a consistent and reasoned matter.
