Gloucester City Police Arrest Eight Individuals on Possession of Illegal Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia

Crime report 1

 

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (February 15, 2018)(CNBNewsnet)Gloucester City Police arrested eight individuals between February 9 and February 15 on possession of illegal drugs (heroin, marijuana) and drug paraphernalia. 

(Note: CNBNews marked those incidents with an asterisk*).

According to police, 

2/9 (3:00 pm) Cpl. Bill Lessig was called to the 600 block of Market Street for a crash involving a pedestrian.  Further investigation determined an (11) year old male crossed the street in the middle of the block and was partially struck by a car traveling west on Market Street.  One injury was reported.

 

*2/9 (4:42 pm) Ptl. Donald Fager III and Tim Ryder responded to the area of Monmouth Street at S. Burlington Street for a report of an erratic driver.  The vehicle was located and a male passenger was found to be unconscious and barely breathing.  Ptl. Fager III administered two doses of Naloxone and the male regained consciousness.  Nicholas M. Caruso (28), a resident of Paulsboro, was transported to an area hospital for treatment.  He was charged with possession of CDS (heroin) and being under the influence of CDS.  The driver of the vehicle, Elizabeth R. Blake (25), a resident of Paulsboro, was also arrested on a warrant from Deptford Twp.  She was additionally charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and released on bail.

 

*2/9 (8:21 pm) While on patrol, Ptl. John Bryszewski stopped a car on Market Street at 3rd. for driving the wrong way on 3rd. Street.  Further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Yolanda I. Santiago (31), a resident of Camden.  She was arrested on warrants from Camden City.  She was additionally charged with possession of CDS (marijuana) and driving on a suspended license.  She was later released on bail.

 

2/9 (8:17 am) Cpl. Bill Lessig was called to the 900 block of Jersey Avenue to investigate a suspicious occupied car.  Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Kenneth H. Tobin, a resident of Haddonfield.  He was arrested on active warrants from Lawnside and later released on bail.

 

2/10 (9:56 am) Sgt. Bill Eller was called to the 100 block of Weston Avenue for a reported car burglary.  Upon arrival, it was determined that an unlocked car was burglarized sometime overnight and change was reported stolen.  While on location, it was discovered that three other unlocked cars parked on the block were burglarized as well.  Change was reported stolen from those cars as well.   Detectives are investigating.

 

2/10 (9:44 am) Cpl. Bill Lessig was called to the parking lot of Gloucester Liquors for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into the building.  The exterior wall of the building was damaged and no injuries were reported.

 

*2/10 (11:41 am) Ptl. Shea O’Donnell responded to the Patriot Car Wash on Rt. 130 for a reported overdose.  Upon arrival, the  male, age 33, a resident of Plainfield was found unconscious and barely breathing.  Ptl. O’Donnell administered one dose of Naloxone and the male regained consciousness.  He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

 

2/10 (12:45 pm) Ptl. Shea O’Donnell responded to the 300 block of Walnut Avenue for a reported car burglary.  Upon arrival, it was determined an unlocked car was burglarized sometime overnight and change was reported stolen.  Surveillance video was obtained from nearby, showing the burglary occurred at approximately 4:30 am.  Detectives are investigating.

 

2/10 4:16 pm) Cpl. Bill Lessig was called to N. Broadway at Chambers Street for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

2/10 (8:52 pm) Ptl. Ben McKinney was called to the unit bock of S. Burlington Street for two males fighting.  Upon arrival, both males were still assaulting each other and refused to stop.  Ilan E. Benitez (18), a resident of the 800 block of Little Somerset Street, was arrested and charged with simple assault and later released.  A (16) year old male from the 700 block of Market Street was taken into custody and charged with simple assault.  He was later released to his mother.

 

2/11 (9:50 am) Ptl. Shea O’Donnell was called to the 200 block of Morris Street for a crash involving two vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

2/11 (10:13 am) Cpl. Bill Johnson responded to Dogwood Avenue for a fire under a trailer.  The fire was extinguished by GCFD personnel and no injuries were reported.

 

2/11 (5:52 pm) Sgt. Jason Flood responded to a residence in the 500 block of Cumberland Street for a report of a resident stealing electricity from her neighbor.  Further investigation determined the resident had connected an extension cord to her neighbor’s rear yard outlet to power her residence, which has no electric service.  The Housing Department was notified and the neighbor signed a theft complaint against the resident.

 

2/11 (7:25 pm) Sean W. Houser (30), a resident of Orange Street, was arrested on N. Broadway at Essex Street by Ptl. George Spingler on warrants from Woodland Twp. and Deptford Twp.  He was later released on bail.

 

*2/12 (10:45 am) DSgt. Carl DePoder observed a suspicious car parked in the parking lot at Dollar General on S. Broadway occupied by one male.  When DSgt. DePoder approached the car, he observed the male snorting heroin off of his cell phone.  Joseph C. McMullen (29), a resident of Carney’s Point, was arrested and charged with possession of CDS (heroin) and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was later released.

 

2/12 (11:00 am) Ptl. Sean Gartland stopped a car on Essex Street at N. Burlington for a traffic violation.  Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the driver, Robert M. Conklin Jr. (49), a resident of Pennsylvania.  He was found to be a fugitive from justice wanted in Bucks County, PA and was additionally charged with driving on a suspended license.  He was lodged in Camden County Jail awaiting extradition.

 

2/12 (6:34 pm) Sgt. Bill Johnson Jr. was called to Rt. 130 at Klemm Avenue for a crash involving three vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

 

2/12 (8:50 pm) Ptl. Donald Fager III and Sean Saunders responded to the 200 block of Orange Street for a reported fight involving (7) people.  Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Angel J. Medina (30), a resident of the 200 block of 3rd. Street.  He was charged with burglary and simple assault and lodged in Camden County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.

 

2/12 (5:20 pm) Ptl. Brittany Pollander was called to Jersey Avenue at S. Broadway for a crash involving two cars.  No injuries were reported.

 

*2/13 (1:30 pm) Demi T. Morgan (20), a resident of the 800 block of Monmouth Street, was arrested by Ptl. Donald Fager III and Sean Saunders on N. Broadway at Warren Street on warrants from Deptford Twp.  She was additionally charged with possession of CDS (heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe.  She was later released on bail.

 

*2/13 (8:06 pm) Det. Keith O’Donnell stopped a car on King Street at Warren Street for a traffic violation.  Further investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Melissa A. Kille (40), a resident of the 200 block of Essex Street.  She was arrested on a warrant from Gloucester City and additionally charged with possession of CDS (heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license.  She was later released on bail.

 

2/13 (11:20 pm) A resident of Linden Street reported scrap metal was stolen from his rear yard on 2/9/2018.  Surveillance video was obtained and detectives are investigating.

 

2/14 (7:39 am) Pt. Shea O’Donnell was called to Rt. 130 at Klemm Avenue for a crash involving 3 cars.  One injury was reported.

 

*2/14 (10:06 am) Shawn M. Baldus (32), a resident of the 800 block of Cumberland Street was arrested on N. Broadway at Essex Street by Det. Joe Hopkins and DSgt. Carl. DePoder on warrants from West Deptford.  He was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe.  He was later turned over to West Deptford Police.

 

2/14 (6:30 pm) Lavinya D. Brisbane (41), a resident of Burlington City, was arrested on Rt. 130 at Market Street by Ptl. Mike Calzonetti and K9 Blitz on a warrant from Mt. Laurel.  She was later released on bail.

 

2/14 (7:55 pm) Angel L. Colon (43), a resident of the 200 block of N. Burlington Street, was arrested on Broadway at Somerset Street by Ptl. John Bryszewski on a warrant from Washington Twp.  He was later released on bail.

 

2/14 (2:42 pm) Sean W. Houser (30), a resident of Orange Street, was arrested on Essex Street at the railroad by Det. Keith O’Donnell.  He was charged with defiant trespass and later released.

 

2/15 (5:30 am) Andrew S. Wright (33), a resident of Westville, was arrested in the parking lot of Wawa on Market Street by Ptl. Shea O’Donnell.  He was arrested on warrants from Camden City and later released on bail.

 

2/15 (7:44 am) Sgt. Bill Eller was called to Rt. 130 at Market Street for a crash involving two cars.  No injuries were reported.

 

In addition, officers made (35) traffic stops, (318) property/business checks and (10) school visits.  Officers made (24) arrests, responded to (10) domestic disputes, impounded (7) abandoned vehicles and managed (304) calls for service between February 9th and February 14th.
