Gloucester City Police and Other Agencies Conduct Two Narcotic Raids in City

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (December 29, 2017)(CNBNewsnet)--The Gloucester City Police Department with assistance from other agencies conducted two narcotic raids over the past week one today, December 29 in the unit block of South Burlington Street and the other on December 22 in the 900 unit block of Gaunt Street.

The police released the following information regarding those raids. 

On the morning of December 29th. the Detective Bureau, K9 Unit and Directed Patrol Unit, along with the Camden County Sheriff’s Department S.E.R.T. Team executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the unit block of S. Burlington Street, culminating an investigation into the distribution of narcotics from the residence.  As a result, a quantity of prescription medication, drug packaging equipment/materials and U.S. currency were seized. 

Alvin Garcia (29), the resident and target of the investigation, was arrested at the scene.  He was charged with possession of CDS (3 counts), possession with intent to distribute (3 counts), distribution within 500 feet of a public building (4 counts), distribution within 1000 feet of a school (4 counts) and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was remanded to Camden County Jail to await a detention hearing. 

Also arrested at the scene was Angel J. Medina (30), a resident of the 200 block of 3rd. Street.  He was arrested on warrants from Gloucester City and additionally charged with possession of CDS (marijuana).  He was remanded to Camden County Jail after failing to post bail.  Officers involved with the investigation:

On the morning of December 22nd. the Detective Bureau, K9 Unit and the Camden County Sheriff’s Department S.E.R.T. Team executed a narcotics search warrant at an apartment in the 900 block of Gaunt Street, culminating an investigation into the distribution of narcotics from the apartment. 

As a result, a quantity of marijuana, drug packaging equipment/materials and U.S. currency were seized.  Vincent R. Burkett (27), a resident of the apartment and target of the investigation, was arrested at the scene.  He was charged with possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute, distribution within 500 feet of a public park and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was released after processing.  Officers involved in the investigation were:
