UPDATE: Gloucester City Police Lt. Steve Burkhardt confirmed that our description of what happened was correct.

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ (December 12, 2017)(CNBNewsnet)—There was a one-car accident in the 800 unit block of Market Street this morning at approximately 10:25 AM. According to a man, who didn't want to be identified, the driver of the car, a woman said she hit the nearby tree after turning right onto Market Street from St. Mary Street. The woman was the only passenger in the car. She was taken away in an ambulance. It is not known if she was injured.

Screen Shot 2017-12-12 at 15.37.59We are waiting for confirmation of that information from the Gloucester City Police Department. The police along with rescue personnel from the fire department and ambulance squad were on the scene. Prior to their arrival a Gloucester City highway department employee was directing traffic.

Earlier this year the driver of a large truck lost control of his vehicle, in the same area, smashing into the back of the corner house at the intersection of Market and St. Mary Street.
