(Camden City, NJ)December 29, 2017 – The Camden County Police Department has seen an increase in motor vehicle thefts recently and is advising residents to be on alert and take precautions to reduce the chance of their vehicle being stolen.
In recent weeks, there have been multiple motor vehicle thefts around the city, including neighborhoods in South Camden and East Camden. Residents are advised to take the following precautions to avoid having their vehicles stolen or broken into:
- Lock your car, even when you are inside the vehicle.
- Always take your keys with you and do not leave them inside the car.
- Don’t leave your car unattended and running to warm up.
- Hide any personal belonging inside the car so that they are not in plain view.
Any motor vehicle theft should be immediately reported to the police, and residents are also asked to report any suspicious activity by calling our tip line at (856) 757-7042.
