Newly-elected Councilman Steve Hagerty was then sworn in to his first term by Camden County Freeholder Ian Leonard (D-Camden).

Councilman Dave Duncan was then sworn in as Council President by NJ State Senator Donald Norcross (D-5).

Duncan will run for re-election in November 2013, along with Councilman Josh Tregear, both as incumbents.

Several county and state dignitaries were on hand for the event in addition to Leonard and Norcross, including County Surrogate Pat Jones, Camden County Sherriff Chuck Billingham, County Clerk Joe Ripa and Deputy County Clerk Chris Morris.

Ripa is the father of TV’s Kelly Ripa and brother of the late Dino Ripa of Bellmawr, who passed away January 8 at age 77.

Each made warm congratulatory remarks to Mayor Frank Filipek and his Borough Council panel.
