(Oct. 30, 2017 – Newark, N.J.) – Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) is making repairs to its natural gas facilities on Rt. 130 in Brooklawn, between the Brooklawn Circle and Browning Road. All of the work will be done in the northbound lanes. The repairs are a result of required surveys following the NJDOT Highway Project in the area, and are scheduled to begin on or about Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017. The work is expected to take two to three weeks to complete.
“Our crews will work around the clock, seven days a week to complete the project,” said James Venito, Jr., senior gas distribution supervisor for PSE&G. “We are making every effort to do the work as quickly and safely as possible to minimize disruption. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this important work.”
PSE&G has spoken with both municipal and state officials, and will have Brooklawn Police on site throughout the project to direct traffic. Although the roadway will remain open in both directions, it will be necessary to close the right lane and right shoulder during construction. PSE&G notified adjacent property owners and assures the public that the area is safe and closely monitored.
