Phil Anastasia, Dennis Barth and Steve Mondile Elected to Hot Stovers Baseball Hall of Fame!

Gloucester Catholic will be well represented during the upcoming 58th Annual Hot Stovers Baseball Club of South Jersey Induction ceremony on Nov. 25 at The Estate at Monroe in Williamstown.
Inquirer Sportswriter Phil Anastasia (Class of 1976), and former players and current coaches Dennis Barth (’80) and Steve Mondile (’83) will be inducted into the South Jersey Baseball Hall of Fame on that occasion.
Also being inducted are fellow sports writer Ed Hilt, along with former players Jack Shine and Brad Strauss.
A 1976 graduate of Gloucester Catholic, Anastasia has been a long-time columnist for the Inquirer covering high schools, while previously serving as sports editor, Eagles beat writer and columnist, and scholastic sportswriter for the Courier-Post.
Barth, the current head coach at Rutgers-Camden, enjoyed spectacular success as a player and head coach at Gloucester Catholic. He has also continued his late father Joe’s outstanding legacy as the coach of Brooklawn’s American Legion team.
Mondile, who coaches with Barth at Rutgers-Camden, played professionally in the
Baltimore Orioles organization, where one of his roommates was Curt Schilling. He was also a long-time former scout for a few major-league organizations.
