Nine Year Old Gloucester City Resident Struck by a Vehicle at Broadway and Hudson Street

 GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (October 20, 2017)(CNBNewsnet)--A nine year old female was struck last Sunday morning by a vehicle as she crossed Broadway at the Hudson Street intersection. According to the police they arrested a Highland Blvd. resident and charged her with the failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. 

Police said the 27-year-old Gloucester City resident was arrested Sunday, October 15 at  (9:55 am) by Ptl. George Spingler. The officer had responded to Broadway at Hudson Street for a reported pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

 

Further investigation determined the pedestrian, a (9) year old female, was crossing Broadway in the crosswalk and was struck. At the time of the investigation, her injuries appeared to be minor and she was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle, Lauren A. Cianchetti (27), a resident of the 400 block of Highland Blvd. was arrested on warrants from Camden City. She was additionally charged with driving on a suspended license and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. She was later released on bail.

IN OTHER MATTERS,

10/13 (5:20 pm) A resident of the 700 block of Cherry Street reported sometime during the day, her bicycle was stolen from a shed in her side yard. The investigation is ongoing.

10/14 (3:00 pm) Ptl. Barb Kane responded to Bergen Street at N. Sussex for a reported overdose. Upon arrival, she found the (39) year old male resident from the 200 block of Mercer Street unconscious and not breathing. Ptl. Kane administered one dose of Naloxone, which had no effect. A second dose of Naloxone was administered by EMS personnel and the male regained consciousness. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

10/14 (3:25 pm) A vehicle stop on Market Street at Stites Avenue conducted by Ptl. George Spingler resulted in the arrest of Gabrielle F. Abate (20), a resident of Runnemede. She was arrested on a warrant from Camden City and later released on bail.

10/14 (5:02 pm) Angel J. Medina (30), a resident of the 200 block of 3rd. Street was arrested on Burlington Street at Monmouth Street by Ptl. Barb Kane for disorderly conduct. He was later released.

10/14 (6:00 pm) A pedestrian stop on Rt. 130 at Market Street conducted by Ptl. Robert Saunders III resulted in the arrest of Michelle A. Greene (31), a resident of Camden and Marcus E. Rushworth (44), a resident of Bertwood Avenue. Greene was arrested on warrants from Camden City and Rushworth was arrested on warrants from Gloucester City and Camden City. Both were later released on bail.

10/14 (7:29 pm) A vehicle stop on Broadway at King Street conducted by Sgt. Jim Little resulted in the arrest of Justin M. Truehart (20), a resident of West Deptford. He was arrested for possession of CDS (marijuana) and later released.

10/14 (7:45 pm) A traffic stop on Powell Street at 4th. conducted by Cpl. Bill Lessig resulted in the arrest of Jason G. Walko (39), a resident of Mantua. He was arrested on warrants from Camden County and Gloucester City and additionally charged with possession of CDS (crack cocaine and prescription medication) and possession of a hypodermic syringe. He was alter remanded to Camden County Jail.

10/15 (10:12 am) While on patrol, Cpl. Bill Johnson observed three juvenile males riding their bicycles on Broadway in the north bound lane, purposely delaying traffic and riding “wheelies”. Cpl. Johnson stopped the three (15) year old males, two from Camden and one from Pennsauken. The mothers of all three were contacted and tickets were issued for delaying traffic and not wearing helmets.

10/15 (7:08 pm) A vehicle stop on Market Street at Westminister Avenue conducted by Sgt. Jim Little resulted in the arrest of Thalia N. Otero (20), a resident of Clayton. She was arrested on warrants from Deptford and Glassboro and additionally charged with driving on a suspended license. She was later turned over to Glassboro Police.

10/15 (11:10 pm) A vehicle stop on Broadway at Linden Street conducted by Ptl. Robert Saunders III resulted in the arrest of Melissa A. Kille (40), a resident of the 200 block of Essex Street. She was arrested on a warrant from Camden City and additionally charged with driving on a suspended license. She was later released on bail.

10/17 (3:55 pm) A pedestrian stop on Burlington Street at Morris conducted by Ptl. Sean Saunders resulted in the arrest of Michael J. Ulak (31), a resident of Brooklawn. He was found to be a fugitive from justice wanted by Camden County Probation and remanded to Camden County Jail.

10/17 6:10 pm) A vehicle stop conducted on Broadway at Somerset Street conducted by Ptl. Shea O’Donnell resulted in the arrest of Quinn R. Collins (20), a resident of Haddon Twp. He was charged with possession of CDS (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released. Four juvenile passengers in the vehicle were also taken into custody and charged with possession of CDS (marijuana):

(16) year old male from the 800 block of Market Street
(17) year old female from the 600 block of Division Street
(16) year old female from the 300 block of 9th. Street
(15) year old female from the 300 block of Somerset Street

All juveniles were released to their parents/guardians pending juvenile court action.

10/17 (10:20 pm) A pedestrian stop on Broadway at King Street conducted by Ptl. Blaise O’Donnell and K9 Demo resulted in the arrest of Kaila E. Hill (27), a resident of Camden. She was arrested on a warrant from Gloucester City and additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. She was later remanded to Camden County Jail.

10/18 (8:41 pm) A pedestrian stop on Broadway at Powell Street resulted in the arrest of John P. Massey (28), a resident of the unit block of E. Thompson Avenue. He was arrested on warrants from Gloucester City, Camden City and East Greenwich. He was later released on bail.

10/18 (7:35 pm) A resident of the 1400 block of Chestnut Avenue reported sometime overnight, a snow blower was stolen from his shed in the rear yard. The investigation is ongoing.

10/19 (2:15 pm) A pedestrian stop on Collings Avenue at Essex Street conducted by Det. Keith O’Donnell resulted in the arrest of Candice E. McNaul (26), a resident of Philadelphia. She was arrested on warrants from Gloucester City and Camden City and later released on bail.

10/19 (7:30 pm) A vehicle stop in the 1300 block of Market Street conducted by Ptl. Robert Saunders III resulted in the arrest of Ashley E. Sweeney (31), a resident of Deptford Twp. She was arrested on warrants from Cinnaminson, West Deptford and additionally charged with driving on a suspended license. She was later released on bail.

In addition, officers conducted (39) traffic stops, (240) property/business checks and (20) school visits. Officers made (25) arrests, investigated (10) motor vehicle crashes, (9) domestic disputes and impounded (16) abandoned vehicles. Officers issued (30) criminal charges, (65) traffic citations and managed (363) calls for service between October 13th. and October 19th.
