Brooklawn/Gloucester Police Investigate Suspicious Car, 3 Arrested on Narcotic Charges

(BROOKLAWN, NJ) (October 22, 2017)(CNBNewsnet)--Brooklawn Police on 6a00d8341bf7d953ef01b8d2446f75970c-200wiroutine patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the Westbrook Lanes parking lot earlier this month. Further investigation led to the arrest of three suspects. Assisting in the arrest were Gloucester City Police Officer Blaise O'Donnell and his canine, Demo.

According to the crime report on October 7 Officer Schules investigated a suspicious occupied motor vehicle parked in the lot of Westbrook Lanes. During the investigation, Off. Schules observed a female attempting to conceal something in the rear seat, and removed two females from the rear of vehicle. Schules requested the assistance of Gloucester City Police Officer Blaise O’Donnell and his canine, Demo to conduct a narcotics sniff of the vehicle which resulted in the the dog indicating the presence of a narcotic odor within the vehicle. During the search a hypodermic needle and two crack pipes were located. At this time, Stephanie Sorrentino(28) a resident of Bellmawr, NJ admitted that the drug paraphernalia was hers. She was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and active warrants. The second female, Gabrielle Noto(28) a resident of Bellmawr, NJ was arrested for active warrants. A third subject, Jordan Rutecki-Kennedy(28) also a resident of Bellmawr, NJ who walked up to the stop location was taken into custody for active warrants. Mr. Rutecki-Kennedy and Ms. Noto were processed, and released with new court dates. Ms. Sorrentino was processed, issued a criminal summons for possession of drug paraphernalia, and released with a pending municipal court date.

In other matters, 

On 09/30/2017, Off. Brewster was dispatched to the bus stop on New Broadway at New Jersey Rd. for a report of a female who was reported to be in and out of consciousness. Off. Brewster made contact with Melissa Joy(29) a resident of Camden, NJ who appeared to be under the influence. Ms. Joy was found to have multiple warrants out for her arrest out of Camden City and was placed under arrest for same. Search incident to arrest, Ms. Joy was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and a hypodermic needle. Ms. Joy was transported to police headquarters, processed, issued a criminal summons, and lodged at the Camden County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

On 09/30/2017, Off. Schules initiated an investigation of a suspicious occupied motor vehicle to the rear of the Brooklawn Norse Apartments. During the investigation, Off. Schules detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. After a search of the vehicle, Off. Schules located marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. The driver, Kyle Young(21) a resident of Stratford, NJ and Theodore Blair(33) a resident of Gloucester City, NJ were arrested, issued a criminal summons, and released with pending municipal court date.

On 09/30/2017, During the above listed stop, Dwayne Jones(46) a resident of the Brooklawn Norse Apartments began yelling profanities at Off. Schules and Off. Nicholas. Mr. Jones was given several warnings to stop and refused to do so. Off. Nicholas arrested Mr. Jones without incident who was later transported to police headquarters, processed, issued a criminal summons, and released with a pending municipal court date.

On 10/02/2017, Off. Nicholas was assisting Gloucester City Police Department with a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of the Motel 6 when he was approached by Stephen Kunst(46) a resident of Camden, NJ. Mr. Kunst stated he was having a dispute with Danielle Smith(46) a resident of Westville, NJ over payment of a hotel room. During the investigation, Mr. Kunst was found to have an active warrant out for his arrest out of Camden City, Westville, and West Deptford and Ms. Smith was found to have an active warrant out for her arrest out of Woodbury City. They both were arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. Mr. Kunst was processed and turned over to the custody of West Deptford Police Department and Ms. Miller was processed and turned over to the custody of Woodbury City Police Department.

On 10/03/2017, Off. Nicholas initiated an investigation of a suspicious occupied motor vehicle in the area of Timber Blvd. & Pennsylvania Rd. During the course of the investigation, Garrett Conley(20) a resident of Hainesport, NJ was found to have an active warrant out for his arrest out of Gloucester City. The accused was arrested, processed, and released with a new court date.

On 10/03/2017, Off. McKenney observed Timothy Pettit(36) a resident of Gloucester City on the grounds of the Motel 6, which he was previously banned from. Mr. Pettit was arrested for trespassing, issued a criminal summons, and released with a pending municipal court date.

On 10/03/2017, Off. Nicholas initiated a motor vehicle stop for an equipment violation in the lot of the Motel 6. During the course of the stop, the driver, Anthony Azzara(32) a resident of Glendora, NJ was found to have an active warrant out for his arrest out of Gloucester Township. Off. Nicholas also recovered a marijuana cigarette, methamphetamine pipe, and digital scale from the vehicle after the driver consented to a search. Mr. Azzara was arrested, processed, issued numerous criminal summonses, and released with a pending municipal court date.

On 10/05/2017, Off. McKenney stopped a motor vehicle on Route 130 for an equipment violation. During the course of the stop, the driver Dominic Moore(40) a resident of Woodbury, NJ was found to be wanted out of the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Moore was arrested and turned over to the custody of the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office.

On 10/10/2017, Off. Nicholas observed a male trespassing on the railroad tracks in the area of New Broadway and Browning Ln. After Off . Nicholas stopped Chad Blunk(23) a resident of Bellmawr, NJ he was found to have an active warrant out for his arrest out of Bellmawr. Mr. Blunk was placed under arrest and was found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle, crack pipe, and an empty bag used to store heroin during a search of his person. The accused was processed, issued a criminal summons, and released with new municipal court date.

On 10/13/2017, Off. Nicholas initiated a motor vehicle stop on the 500 block of New Broadway for an equipment violation. A passenger, James Spencer(41) a resident of Gloucester City, NJ was found to have an active warrant out for his arrest out of Camden City. Mr. Spencer was arrested, processed, and released with a new court date.

On 10/13/2017, Off. Nicholas observed Angel Medina(30) a resident of Gloucester City, NJ walking down New Broadway. Off. Nicholas new that Mr. Medina had active warrants out for his arrest out of Gloucester City, Bellmawr, Collingswood, Haddon Township, and Egg Harbor City. Off. Nicholas arrested Mr. Medina without incident, at which time he was processed, and released with new court dates.

On 10/13/1027, Off. Nicholas initiated a motor vehicle stop on Browning Ln in the area of 6th St. for an equipment violation. During the investigation of the stop, the driver, Richard Pease(50) of Camden-Wyoming, DE was found to have active warrants out for his arrest out of West Deptford and Glassboro. The accused was arrested, processed, and released after posting bail.

On 10/18/2017, Sgt. Hirst was dispatched to Brown’s Shop Rite for a report of a male in custody of the loss prevention officer for attempting to shoplift. Guillermo Alarcon(62) a resident of Gloucester City was arrested for shoplifting after he attempted to leave the store with make-up and aspirin, which he did not pay for. Mr. Alarcon was processed, issued a criminal summons, and released with a pending municipal court date.

On 10/18/2017, Off. Nicholas investigated a suspicious occupied motor vehicle in the lot of the Motel 6. During the investigation, an occupant, Dawone Baylock(38) a resident of Camden, NJ was found to be wanted by the Camden County Sheriffs Office. After Mr. Baylock was arrested, he was also found to be in possession of a vial containing marijuana. Mr. Baylock was processed, issued a criminal summons, and lodged at the Camden County Correctional Facility in default of bail.

On 10/18/2017, Off. Nicholas stopped a male on his bicycle in the Brooklawn Shopping Center for a traffic infraction. During the stop, the pedacyclist, John Best(23) a resident of Bellmawr was found to have an active warrant out for his arrest out of Brooklawn. The accused was arrested, processed, and released with a new court date.

On 10/19/2017, Off. Nicholas took a report from a male who walked into police headquarters that his phone was stolen while he was at the basketball courts. Off. Nicholas called the phone numerous times before a female answered who stated that her boyfriend brought the phone back to their apartment in hopes that the owner would call, so they could return it. Off. Nicholas advised the female to return the phone to police headquarters, however she failed to do so, and returned it directly to the owner. During the investigation, Off. Nicholas identified the male who originally took the phone as Joseph Spurio(33) a resident of Brooklawn who had an active warrant out for his arrest out of Camden City. Mr. Spurio was arrested at his apartment without incident and transported to police headquarters for processing. Mr. Spurio was processed and released with a pending municipal court date.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
